For a period, I learned Chinese inadequately. I was bad at Chinese reading comprehension at then. I’ve also done a lot of practice, but there is nothing in the result. I was down in the dumps and decided to ask my Chinese teacher.
I stepped into the teachers’ office with a sigh. Then asked my Chinese teacher: “What should I do to improve my Chinese reading comprehension?”
My Chinese teacher is a harsh woman. I thought that she would reject me, even punish me.
However, surprisingly, she answered my question mildly: “As you know, in the phrase ‘reading comprehension’, ‘reading’ comes first, right?”
I slightly nodded my head.
“So, this is the most efficient solution! Don’t just do a lot of practice, but read some articles and books. I believe that you will significantly improve your reading skill through reading.”
Rome wasn’t built in a day. I accepted the method which my Chinese teacher told me and insisted on reading. As a result, Chinese reading comprehension is no longer a problem for me anymore now.
